All that peeling gave me an excuse to sit down for extended periodds of time, so I'd bring a bucket with me and sit and peel while the kids played outside, or inside while watching TV. I was pretty lazy in my approach =) I kind of miss having a reason to sit down!

The plum-kissed-pear freezer jam is really my favorite! And Charlie likes it too, which he usually isn't too keen on new and 'unusual' things. It calls for way too much sugar, so I cut the amount quite a bit and also substituted the pear honey. I wish I had known about the sugar free jam pectin before that because I would have been less nervous about altering the recipe! All I want to do when I am that big is prop my fat feet up on something and take another nap. Just ask Greg :0) - He will be the first to tell you that I never nested. I 'm very thankful that you did though. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the pear deliciousness that has filtered our way! I was also very inspired by your Chronicles of Nadvornia post on decluttering.

P.S. I have used the sugar free jam/jelly pectin. That's what I used for the strawberry/juice/honey freezer jam.Jenihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10654090519664292258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2654758713847238560.post-38872952579585714652010-09-16T10:31:48.618-05:002010-09-16T10:31:48.618-05:00I had no idea you could even make all those things...I had no idea you could even make all those things with pears! Besides a couple desserts, the only thing I've done with pears is canning. I NEVER thought of jam. But then, my children eat most of them fresh!

Great job - but now I'm feeling tired!
GinaGinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05420137490490341730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2654758713847238560.post-8710852067668771412010-09-16T09:36:20.984-05:002010-09-16T09:36:20.984-05:00Oh, also, I didn't see this at HyVee, but Walm...Oh, also, I didn't see this at HyVee, but Walmart has pectin for sugar-free jam/jelly recipes. I have no idea what the difference is, and I don't really desire to become an expert, but it is nice to know that it's available for whatever form you want to make!
